আইবুড়োভাত — বিদায়ের আগের শেষ ভোজ
Aiburobhat
Ritual
Photography
The last meal as a child of the home — rice served with love on a banana leaf, elders blessing with tears in their eyes. Aiburobhat is the most intimate, most quietly emotional moment of a Bengali wedding. We are there to remember it for you.

এই রীতির কথা
What is Aiburobhat?
Aiburobhat — literally "the bachelor/bachelorette's meal" — is one of the most sacred pre-wedding rituals in Bengali Hindu tradition. On the day before the wedding, the bride or groom sits for a ceremonial feast, fed by their mother and blessed by every elder in the family.
It is the last time they eat as an unmarried child of the household. Rice, dal, vegetables and fish are arranged on a banana leaf — simple, pure and deeply symbolic. Elders touch their foreheads with blessings. Mothers cry. Younger siblings laugh. The whole family gathers, and in that gathering is a kind of love that cannot be described — only photographed.

What We Photograph
Aiburobhat is quiet, fast and deeply emotional. Every frame requires anticipation — being in the right place before the moment arrives.
Most Treasured
Maa-er Haate Bhat
মায়ের হাতে ভাত
The mother scooping rice onto the banana leaf — or gently placing it in the child's mouth — is the single most emotionally charged frame of the entire ritual. We position ourselves for this moment from the start.

Why Choose Us for
Your Aiburobhat?
Aiburobhat is unlike any other event we photograph. It is small, sacred and intensely personal. It demands photographers who understand the ritual not just visually — but culturally and emotionally.
Deep Cultural Knowledge
We know the sequence of every Bengali pre-wedding ritual — when the mother serves, when elders bless, when to expect tears. We are never caught by surprise.
Invisible, Respectful Presence
We use small, quiet cameras and natural available light wherever possible. The ceremony is never interrupted or staged. We observe and we record.
Natural Light Specialists
Most Aiburobhat ceremonies happen in daylight at home. We work exclusively with natural window light and soft reflectors — never harsh flash — to preserve the warmth and intimacy of the setting.
মা, আর কতদিন বাড়ি থাকব?
"Maa, how many more days will I be home?"
This is the question in every child's eyes during Aiburobhat. And it is the answer in the mother's hands — one more plate of rice, served with all the love of a lifetime.
